Weekly Meditation – The Power of Parenting

  • January 16, 2015
  • by Maria

Whenever I am feeling uncertain about what to do when it concerns my children, I simply ask the question: What is best for _______?

Usually the first answer that comes up, is the answer.

If you are still unclear….

Find a quiet moment – perhaps before you go to sleep.

Take a few deep breaths and ask the question.  Be still….

The answer may come up through your dreams, or right then and there.  One way or another, your inner GPS is always on and working.

You will be guided somehow!

New Year Meditation

  • January 5, 2015
  • by Maria

Envision

Close your eyes. Take a few deep, long breaths, and simple let your body relax.

Imagine you wake up and it is the morning of December 31, 2015.  You are about to celebrate the end of 2015. You reflect back, and notice all that became possible for you.  All that you are grateful for. Whatever you envisioned a year ago, has come to life from all your intentional work. What is possible for you at that moment that wasn’t possible the previous year.  See what is present in your life now – all that you envisioned is now present.  See it.  If it is a partner, turn around and give that partner a hug.  If it is healthy children, see them running into your room all vibrant and perfect.

See what is possible for you, and experience it. Enoy the visualization.

Affirm: “This or something better will manifest for me now, for the greater good of all beings”

A Simple Guide to Your Holiday Season – Meditation

  • December 8, 2014
  • by Maria

Holiday Meditation

Close your eyes…

Take a few deep breaths…

Envision a cord being released from your tail bone, and anchor it into the core of the earth.  Feel gravity pull your back straight…pulling it down. Straighten your back.

Breath…

Ask yourself what you would like during this time of year.  See what comes up.  If you actually couldn’t hear anything; or feel anything, ask again.

Once you’ve heard the answer, thank yourself.

Open your eyes.

Breath…smile.

Whatever the answer is, that will be the gift you give yourself this year.  If it is connection, then connect with yourself during another meditation tomorrow. This will open your heart to also give to others.

Enjoy this time of year…

Gratitude, Love and Thanksgiving Meditation

  • November 26, 2014
  • by Maria

There are times when it may be hard to take a good look at what there is to be grateful for – yet those are the Best times to notice what is present in your life. You can do this every day…

Take a moment and look around at your life and that is. Notice your home, your body, do you have at least one loved one? Are you employed? Did you have dinner last night? Although these may seem basic to you at the moment, they were once things that you longed for and hoped to achieve.

Take this moment to close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and feel whatever you are sitting on. Notice that there was a time that this did not exist, and now it does. You caused it.  Acknowledge the achievement…and thank yourself, and the universe for collaborating to make it possible.

Next think of someone you really appreciate, and thank them for being a part of your life;

Go through all that is for you at this time in your life, and simply notice and acknowledge all of it.

Open your eyes, take a deep breath.  Enjoy the new day and all the experience that comes with it!

Sex Matters – Weekly Meditation

  • October 21, 2014
  • by Maria

There are various forms of meditations available when it comes to sex and spirituality

The ones that I’ve enjoyed, are the kundalini meditations by Osho.  Visit http://oshomedia.blog.osho.com/ for an abundance of meditations, books and information.  Choose what you resonate with.

When I need to connect further, I like to meditate and visualize my husband and I, as light beings.  Simply being together and experiencing a deeper bond.  This is a time for play for our spirit selves.  This reunites me with him at times when I feel detached.  Practicing this visualization before a conversation, lays out our communication in a very peaceful, clear and productive way.  It is much easier to transition to intimacy from there.

Practice closing your eyes and seeing each other’s spirits (or light beings).  Communicate, and honor each other.  Open your eyes and be reminded of who he is in your life, and in this world.

Indulge in each other’s presence…

Imperfectly Perfect – Meditation

  • October 8, 2014
  • by Maria

Allow your practice this week to simply be:

Embracing your Imperfection

When you stumble somewhere in life, or hit a really bad bump along the way…no matter how small or large the circumstance is – simply embrace it.

Remind yourself that this is what you are here for.

Affirm:

“I love myself exactly as I am”

Post it on your bathroom mirror for a week (a month is even better), and affirm it daily.

Conscious Parenting vs. Subconscious Parenting Meditation

  • September 30, 2014

Conscious Parenting vs. Subconscious Parenting

A great way to tune into what lies beneath is to be still.

Meditation allows you the opportunity of stillness.  When the chatter in your mind quiets down, you can then listen to what comes up.  It is usually your very first thought.  The very first feeling.  This is also your inner voice or intuition speaking to you about what wants to be heard. Meditation is the way in which you can bridge your conscious with your subconscious.

Find a comfortable place to sit where you will not be disturbed for at least 5 minutes.

Shut your eyes and take several deep breaths.

Count in as you inhale and count out as you exhale.

As the oxygen begins to flow to your brain you will naturally begin to unwind and relax.

The thoughts will slowly come in and simply notice them, and then tell them to leave.

Continue to ask your thoughts to leave until you have a moment of stillness.

Practicing this and flexing your meditation muscle will eventually create longer moments of stillness.

See what comes up.  If its a feeling of anxiety or fear, ask it what it wants. Notice what answers flow in.

Thank yourself and your inner voice and open your eyes.

Practice a few times a week and write down what has come up for you.  You may prefer to draw what an image if that is what came up.

Simply notice what appears…

Back to School Meditation

  • September 12, 2014
  • by Maria

As you are racing through the day, take a deep breath, take another, put your hand on your heart, and affirm…

I am here…

I am here…

I am here…

See yourself sitting under a tree and affirm again (no need to close your eyes…just imagine it).

Stay present, and stay connected to your heart.  It will help keep you grounded throughout the day.

Plans This Summer – Meditation

  • August 20, 2014
  • by Maria

Simply Breathe….

Breathe as you are packing and wrapping things up before you go. Make a small list, and check it off as you go – we often realize that we forgot something after we have already arrived at our destination. Breathe as you travel (whether by car, airplane or ship). And remember to breathe along any bumps during check in. Finally, breathe deep, long breaths while you are there and slow down. Your vacation has begun…

Grounding Meditation for Children

  • February 23, 2014
  • by Maria

Before going to bed, sit with your child while you both close your eyes.

Begin guiding your child through the following meditation: As you are sitting on your bed, imagine a large oak tree – the largest you have ever seen. See its branches, the green leaves, its bark. See it swaying as the wind blows. Now imagine this tree is inside your bedroom. Your entire room is covered by the branches and trees – like a tree house. Everywhere you look, you see part of the tree. As you are sitting in this tree room, imagine a little cord (like a plug) is released from under your bottom and goes down into the center of the Earth and plugs in there. As it is plugged, a warm burst of energy is brought up to you and you feel it throughout your body. See if you can feel that once more. Then unplug this cord and bring it back up to your bottom. See the tree, and thank it for the comfort and safety it is bringing you. Wish it a good night. Slowly open your eyes.

A good snuggle, a touch of love and a juicy kiss from mom or dad should send your little one off to a good night’s sleep.
